Weekend Getaway....Part Trés

Sorry it's taking me a few days to get to the last recap of our getaway

Sunday we got up and lazed around a bit with the folks then jumped in the truck and rode all over God's country.  Let me tell you, gorgeous rolling hills, green grass, beautiful fall leaves.  I snapped a million pics.  Then, we drove through Mammoth Cave National Park, more gorgeousness!
We pretty much walked right up to a young whitetail deer, I took a million pictures of her.
I'll try to keep it from being a total picture overload:

The tiny little City Hall in Oakland, Ky

Adorable little "downtown"

Another town hall

no matter what I do, I can't get this to flip, I give up

can't get this one to flip for the life of me either

J likes taking pics of me...

Gorgeous huh?

bahaha, ready to kill me?

J and my mother skipping rocks
J and I got up Monday and headed home.  On our way we enjoyed a scenic highway trip instead of interstate and went to the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, TN
I didn't know we could have our cameras, so I didn't take it....hence the reason there's no photos.  But, it was great, if you haven't been and you're ever in the area I highly suggest you go.  It's even FREE!  Can't beat that.
We stopped and played the lottery, and then came home.  It was a great trip.  It was so nice to spend 4 days with my honey.  We haven't really spent that much time together since before he left for boot camp.  Fabulous!!

Seriously Thursday

Frommrstomama
Seriously...I'm realizing that I never posted the last day of the 30 Day Challenge, I'll have to get on that!

Seriously...I'm blessed.  I have an amazing husband who is everything that I could have ever dreamed of.  I can't brag enough about him

Seriously...I don't have a whole lot to fuss about in my life.  Well, I do, but I can't fuss about it here because of my own set blog rules lol

Seriously...We decided to play the lottery on our way back home Monday, we won!  A free ticket Got ya!  We matched 2 numbers and that got us a free ticket.  Hey now, a win is a win no matter how small!

Seriously...Alabama allergies make my life ridiculous a living hell most days.  I can't breathe through my nose and my eyes burn.  Let me tell you, that doesn't combine well with our walking plan we just got back on.  J and I walk 2 miles together and he runs later that day the same 2 miles.  He's dedicated to it.

Seriously...I used to run, all the time, without fail.  Life changes, happiness, several things happened and I haven't run in over a year.  I even ran a 5k and had a really great finishing time and enjoyed myself.  But, I ran for stress relief, I ran for "me time"  I ran to run away from it all and be able to just go.  Pound out all the stress.  I don't have the same motivation any more, so I'm having a hard time finding the push.
J and I walk together, not just stroll, we get out and move, but we talk and it's amazing

Seriously...my husband already has halloween decorations up.  No joke.  He loves fall, loves halloween.  He's just as bad with Christmas.  We stay lit up and decorated from the end of September until Jan 1!  I can't lie, I love it too.  It brings so much cheer.  And watching him just makes my heart happy.

Weekend getaway...Part Dos

Saturday was a fairly lazy day, it was so nice.  Weather was pretty ok, I don't think it got over 75, breezy and overcast.  J and I went outside and played with our camera while waiting for Daddy to get ready to go fishing, wound up taking some pretty silly pics.  I can't believe I'm putting pics of me, minimal makeup, on my blog...lol
He knows I don't like pics of me un-made-up

This is me stiffling a laugh during my annoyed face

I love this man!

The "Amanda mad-face" I made at my Daddy
I'm trying to find a picture of my niece that everyone says has the Amanda mad-face.  It's pretty cute, if I find it before this posts, I'll post them side by side at the bottom

We went to a pond that Daddy's friend owns, and has stocked.  It was really fun!  I caught 5 fish...and one decoy duck!  lol
J caught several too!
I get bored, rather easily...J swears I have ADD...anyway.  I kept spying the little john boat that was there, but it had water in it.  Finally, after I got bored enough, I drug that boat out of the water, up onto the bank and got all of the water back near the plug.  I reached my hand in that nasty water and drained it.  Of course, I've gotten J's interest lol.  I got in it, pushed myself out into the water.  I told J, "Come on, get in!"  Poor guy, he must not have spent nearly as much time in a boat as I did as a kid.
J got in and wanted to paddle...he apparently didn't understand my amazing paddling skills.  I set out to prove to him that I'm awesome.  I paddled us around the tiny pond as he fished.  It was fun.
Told J to take a pic, bc he may never see it again

a caterpiller, on my size 11 shoe...yeah I'm big foot

My first catch, I was pretty psyched

but of course I didn't touch it, I made J un-hook it
J caught one!

Duke was less than impressed

Capt. Amanda!

My little brother-dog, Duke

My Daddy and his floppy (lady's) sunhat
We had such a great time.  Mommie stayed at home, where I wished I was until I got the boat lol.  I'm not a fisherwoman.  It bores me to tears most of the time.  Sadly, we didn't catch enough to eat since we couldn't keep any of the bass.  So, we went back to their house and ate delicious manicotti that my mother homemade.  We ate so good!  I think we both gained 10 pounds!  I must learn to cook better, lol!!

And, the side-by-side of my adorable niece Rayleigh, showing that she is her Auntie's girl by making the "Amanda mad-face"  lol

Our fabulous weekend...Part Uno

We headed out Friday, after J's promising interview (yay! Finally!  God is good!), and headed up to Nashville.  The whole way I kept singing, "We're going to the zoo!"  I'm like a kid when it comes to animals, LOVE animals!  J just kept laughing at me, I don't know why lol.
The whole ride up, it was cloudy and overcast, I was about to get upset because I didn't want weather to ruin our Zoo-venture!
As soon as we crossed over into Nashville, the sky was bright and blue, just a few wispy clouds, it was great!  I was so excited.
How's that for an excited face? lol
I won't bore you all with the animals, I'm sure you've all been to zoos before!  I'll just show you a few of our favorite pictures:
J's favorites, the Meercats
I laughed at this little guy sunning himself

This one was digging in the rock-puddle for grubs I guess

And this little guy cracked me up, sitting on his butt

They were all collecting on the only rock with sunshine
I loved the zebras
So of course I had to take a pic of us with zebra butts

more zebra hineys
I will do everyone a favor and not post the million reptile pics I took, since I know most folks are highly creeped out at the thought of a snake
But, I have to share this pic:
Seriously, this Anaconda was about 15 feet long, and the zookeeper had to go in and spray his habitat.  Apparently a job so dangerous, he had to have a spotter, here's why:

The really neat thing about Nashville Zoo, is that it was built on an old farm, and the plantation house is still standing and you can tour it.  We really liked walking around the old plantation.  The family cemetary was especially neat.  (I'm kind of strange when it comes to cemetaries...not a fan, unless it's OLD)

My handsome honey checking out a headstone
The weather was perfect, we went in the middle of a Friday afternoon so there were very few kids.  I'm not a fan of other people's children, kids are insanely misbehaved these days.  But, that's a rant for another post some other day.  lol
We got done at the zoo then fought Nashville 5 o'clock traffic to the stateline and headed on the rest of the 30ish minute drive to my parents house.

We got there and had a drink, while sitting on my parents back patio, fire pit burning, stars sparkling.  Daddy grilled sausage, and we had a great rest of the night with my parents.  It's so nice to get away and relax, spend some time with family you don't see often.
