The big breast debate

hahaha, I mean breastfeeding sillies

I plan on breastfeeding/pumping, as I've been clear with on my blog.  However, I don't feel that if you don't you're a bad mother.
Pre-pregnancy, I was 100% against it.  No way, no how was I going to do it.  It creeped me out.  But, I started doing research.  Research people, it's key to being informed.  Do your own research, several sources, and be ready to make the decisions for yourself.  Decisions you're willing to stand by.  Because you're going to be asked "Why breastfeeding?" or, the other side of the coin, "Why not breastfeed?"

To me, as long as you're nourishing your baby the way their bodies require, it doesn't matter which you choose, at least not to me, just be sure and stand by your decisions.

However, I also don't think that anyone should be offended by those who choose to breast feed, or flipside, be offended by those who chose to formula feed.  You can find all kinds of reasons to do both, and to be offended by those who don't agree with you.  But, in the end, come on, as long as Baby is healthy...that's the end result that anyone is looking for.

A friend of mine posted on Twitter that someone equated breastfeeding in public to PORN.  Pornography? Really?  How can you even say that seriously?  Bare breasts while swinging around a pole is sexual; bare breasts while feeding an infant, not even close to sexual! Why does anyone think breasts in general are sexual?  It's kind of ingrained in each of us, but where on earth did it come from?  God obviously had an intended use when he created woman's breasts....a source of food for her progeny!  Not for man to lust after
But, somewhere along the lines, it got skewed.
Wow...I'm starting to stray from topic, and sounding like a hippie again.  LOL  I'm certainly not a hippie

Back to the topic, breastfeeding is natural, wonderful, convenient.  Your breasts are with you wherever you go, so you don't have to cart around bottles and formula.  Why give a woman a hard time, or make such rude remarks, when she's doing what she feels best for her baby.  It wasn't THAT long ago that breastfeeding was THE thing to do, and you were looked down on if you didn't.
Flip the tables, how would you feel if people were saying you're poisoning your baby because you choose formula?  I'm sure people do, but I'm sure it's difficult to find that person.  Whereas, I know it's not that difficult to find someone to throw stones at the breastfeeding mother.

Think before you speak, is the baby healthy?  Is that baby and mother happy?
To each his own

Rant over lol
I blame raging preggo hormones hahaha
however, I do stand by all of this!
