Don't most babies have security *blankets*?

Most babies have security blankets, security dolls, pacis, you know, normal stuff right?
Not mine.
Pierce has a security nasal cannula.  lol.  He just won't give it up.  He barely has any flow going up his little nose (100ml for those of you in the medical know) and stays on a room air blend (21%, for you medical peeps again).  Weaning him from that is a slow slow slow process.  Slow.  He just doesn't want to give it up.

Other than that, he's a normal baby.  Silly boy must love the NICU.

He dropped some weight last I had heard, typical.  He's bounced all over.  Born 7 pounds 3 ounces, when he was very sick and had all sorts of fluids being pumped in, he was 7 pounds 11 ounces.  He dropped back to 7lb 6oz, back to birth weight and now 6lb 14oz.
And wow at the changes in his appearance....he doesn't look like the same baby at all

J finally took a few pics of Pierce and I!

And, my favorite pictures from the past few days...I laughed until I cried:

Feeding Pierce...Pierce *loves* to eat

And the pooping starts...complete with sound and smell!  A full sensory experience

"Oh son!"

I was giggling before this...but I lost it here, I laughed until tears rolled down my cheeks
J doesn't believe that breast fed babies smell better than formula matter what the nurses tell him lol.  One day he'll meet a formula baby and understand!!
I was mean, I even made J change that diaper! lol.  However, I did help a little...just a little.  HA!

  1. Lol formula really does smell worse. We thought there might be something wrong with Amelia when we first got a wiff of her first formula diaper. Love the pics though too funny!

  2. I love seeing all the photos of Pierce. Praying he gets better very soon so you can take him home!

  3. Love that second photo of you and Pierce! Tell J I'll bring Whit by soon and he can compare, the kid has seriously had a few farts that I thought were human or Zoey's...haha.
