23 Weeks

23 Weeks!
Wow, are we really down to less than 17 weeks?!
I'm about to start the freaking out phase...ya'll will pull me back to reality, right?

How far along are you?
23 Weeks

Total weight gain:
I'm feeling like a beached whale...already.
Just kidding, slightly.  It's not that bad really.

How big is baby?:
What to Expect says an ear of corn.  And right now, I'd love to sink my teeth into a delicious, buttery ear of Silver Queen corn...yum.  That sounds heavenly.

Maternity clothes:
Always...except for my pajamas...that's usually worth a giggle or two the past few weeks.  My belly pokes out from under the shirt unless I steal J's Army tshirts that are forever long for some reason
Now I've started just wearing a sports bra and undies, can you say COMFORTABLE?!

Stretch marks?:
None, yet.
Still applying Palmers religiously
But I've started getting spider veins on my belly?!
I guess because I'm so white and just don't tan

Sleep?:
Seems to be getting restless, I'm wondering if Pierce is moving around and that wakes me.  But, I sleep so soundly that I don't feel it
I've started waking up between 430 and 630 every morning, tossing and turning for an hour or more

Best moment this week?:
I don't know about BEST, but funniest:
J and I were riding home after dinner the other day...I had had 2 HUGE glasses of ice water and a bottle full.  Needless to say, I had to pee!!  I was doing ok, was going to make it home, until Pierce decided that he was going to use my FULL bladder for a trampoline!
Can you say oddest feeling ever?!  J started laughing at me, which made me laugh, which doesn't help the situation!  This went on for 15 minutes, luckily, I made it home!

Movement?:
All day!  He's an active little fellow!

Food cravings?:
Still...
Popcicles!  At least I'm eating sugar free lol
and sweet sweet seedless watermelon!  YUM!

Food aversions?:
Not too bad, kind of depends on the day

Labor signs?:
NO!  Stay put Baby!

Belly button in or out?:
In...not sure if I think it will or won't pop

What I miss:
bending over, putting my pants on normally...I have to do some wide legged, sitting down, funny dance and can imagine it's only going to get worse lol

What I'm looking forward to:
getting our place so I can set up Pierce's nursery

What I'm not looking forward to:
Summer, I'm already hot!
We've already hit 91 degrees!

Milestone:
I guess jumping on my bladder like it's a moon bounce!!  LOL

Flaunt a Friend!! EMILY!

This is my first link-up for Flaunt a Friend, since I was flaunted by the Sassy Ms Ginger, I figured I would pass along the favor!
Since I'm the one that pestered her to start a blog, I'm hoping to get her some views because ya'll will love her as much as I do!  Who, you ask?

Emily at everyDay Emily.  She is one of my best friends, and a coworker.  She is in her mid 20s, married with an almost 3 year old little redhead!  Her son is adorable and obsessed with super-heros...poor Emmy!  LOL.
Emily has her associates degree and her bachelors in Criminal Justice...and she is currently pursuing her Masters!!  I'm proud of her.  She's a wife, mother, employed full-time, and is still going after her Masters.  I always fuss at her for doing too much, but she does it and accomplishes what she sets her mind on.

She's just starting her blog, and I'd love to see her really enjoy it as much as I do!  Ya'll go say hi!!

Moving on!

Finally!  We are moving on with our lives!  We signed a lease today for our new apartment.  It has everything we need.  Fits in our budget, includes water (heck yeah!), and is CLOSE to work for both of us.  So close we can both go home on lunch breaks, which means less money spent on eating out because we can just make food at home!  PLUS, with us only having one car, less gas spent driving back and forth!  WHOO HOO!

We'll be moved in in time to get Pierce's nursery set up, and make the rest of the apartment our home.  It'll be nice to be settled in when he comes (we hope all goes to plan!!).

It's been really nice to live so near his family, and even though it was supposed to be a temporary situation while J was in boot camp, it turned into a more permanent one.  We'll be forever grateful for the gift we've been given.

So, soon enough, we'll start packing up again, thank fully 90% of it is still packed in storage!  We get to move in July!!  Now, to find a decently priced internet and cable provider...ugh!

22 Weeks

First, let me apologize for being such a crappy blogger!  I haven't been feeling fabulous, not bad, but certainly not amazing.  Just worn out!  We're trying to find an apartment, because, while we SO appreciate being able to live with J's grandmother for almost a year.  But, it's totally not right, and the last thing we wanted to do, to continue living there with a new born.  Plus, we're ready to have our own space again.  We've been looking, with a limited budget because we do not want to overextend ourselves with Pierce on the way!  We may have found a place!  Close to work even!  So...more on that later!

22 Weeks
I completely forgot to take a pic today!  Check back, I hope to add one later!

How big is baby?:
What to expect says a papaya.  As I do not eat papayas, I had it in my mind that a papaya is smaller than last week's spaghetti squash!
But, I can tell that, no matter the produce, Pierce has grown!

well, snap, I was WRONG, that sucker is big!! lol

Seems to be getting restless, I'm wondering if Pierce is moving around and that wakes me.  But, I sleep so soundly that I don't feel it
Last night I woke up with a stabbing pain in my back, on my left side above my hip.  Kept me awake and almost in tears for about an hour then it stopped just as quickly as it started!
Whatever that was, it can stay away!  I didn't worry about Pierce because it never left my back, and he was still wiggling away, so I knew he was ok

Best moment this week?:
Pierce kicked hard enough to move my hand while it was resting on my belly!
J had his head on my belly one night and got kicked!  It was his first real time to feel him!

Movement?:
Daily, and some days all day.  he's become an active little guy

Food cravings?:

One Year Ago

I've written about the events of April 27, 2011 before.  But, here we are, one year later.  Sadly, there are still reports of people displaced even now.  Fresh construction is bittersweet.

Words escape me.  They really do.  I'm proud of the community I live in, my coworkers (remember, I'm in law enforcement, patrol dispatch), and the other law enforcement agencies in this area and from ALL OVER the country...everyone banded together, searched through rubble to find injured or dead.  Restaurants, grocery stores came out in droves to make sure all of the first responders had food, water, hygiene items.   We were WELL taken care of.  They knew that not only were the citizens of our community without power, and most of us with out hot water, the responders/dispatchers were without too.  While we didn't get any hot water, we were supplied with plenty bottled water, snacks, fresh cooked food.  Our Sheriff made sure we ate!!

A year later, we're a tighter knit group.  A year later, we're more respectful of the weather.  We've even had another tornado event, not nearly the scope of last year, but it still was devastating.  Hit some of the same places that had JUST rebuilt.  Our department is stronger, our community is stronger, our state is stronger.

Stop by my bff/coworker's blog and read her One Year Ago post...very well written.

Fur Baby Friday!!

Sully's favorite post of the week!!

Thanks to instagram, I take far too many pics of Sullivan

He'd rather be with Daddy than Mommie

But, when Daddy's gone, curling up on Mommie and Pierce will do

It got cold, so I bundled him

That didn't last long...

I covered him while he was shivering at 2am, when I got up to potty at 530, he was still here.  HA

taking his position on Daddy, his favorite nightly spot!
I'm thinking next week I'll go "retro" with some old pics of Sulls.  Sadly, since he's nearly 9 and digital cameras were WAY too expensive in that day, I don't have pics of him as a teeny pup.

21 Weeks! It's starting to FLY!

21 Weeks!
19 to go, oh dear! lol

I swear he grew overnight last night
